At my grandmother's house there is a very special footstool in the livingroom next to the bookcase. What makes this footstool special? Not only has it supported many a tired foot, but once upon a time it was a favorite toy for us grandkids. When turned upside down the top became the seat, the legs became the rails, and we had ourselves the perfect ride.
In keeping with tradition, yesterday when Jack dragged the footstool out of his bedroom we turned it upside down and took turns racing him back and forth down the hallway. He loved it so much that when we finally stopped for bed he tried to climb back in!
