A Fly On the Wall Drives This Family Insane!

We’ve had a fly in the house for almost three days now. I’m not sure how it got in or when exactly, but I discovered it three days ago when Jackson came running out of the kitchen screaming hysterically and hid in his room. When I asked him what was wrong he said he was scared of the fly.

Sure enough, I found a little housefly buzzing around the kitchen. I tried reasoning with Jackson but he refused to come out of his room while the fly was still loose, so I set about to kill that fly. Twenty minutes later I was sweating buckets and madder than a wet hen… and that fly was still meandering about the kitchen, cleverly avoiding my improvised fly swatter.

Now here we are three days later and the fly is still in the house. Jackson is traumatized… indeed, I had to coax him back to the table with a brownie today after the fly landed a few feet away during lunch and terrorized us all. Caleb and I are sleep deprived from Jackson getting up several times a night and trying to climb in our bed because he thinks the fly is in his room.

All of our attempts to kill the thing have been in vain, but we are on the brink of insanity here! I had our pest control guy here today and he sprayed inside the house… hopefully that will take care of our fly pretty soon!

I shudder to think what would happen were Jackson in Indonesia during the summer.
