Jack: “Mommy, who is singing this Christmas song?”

Me: “Um, I think it’s the Beach Boys.”

Jack: “No.”

Me: “Yes.”

Jack: “But Christmas is about the snow, not the beach!”

Me: “That’s the name of the group, not the subject of the song. And FYI: people who live on the beach have just as much right to celebrate Christmas as people who live in the snow.”

Jack: “Mommy!”

Me: “What??”

Jack: “We can’t listen to this Christmas song because it’s not snowing yet!”

Me: “Oh brother.”
