iraq part deux

I thought I’d find it really difficult to enjoy two weeks of R&R with the impending return to Iraq looming before us. Thankfully, that hasn’t been the case… in fact, I’ve hardly thought about Iraq at all. But with Sunday fast approaching, goodbyes coming, and five more months of this deployment, I’m facing reality once again.

Actually, I don’t think I was ever in denial. And neither was he. “Coming home for leave has been great,” he said. “But it’s time to go back. Finish the mission. Be done. Come home.”

Sounds good to me.
