date night

I hereby submit this photo as evidence why it’s best when I don’t take pictures with myself in them. Don’t we all look so… awkward?! And this was seconds before the neighbors drove down their driveway wondering why we were standing around in the yard like dorks. Also, it was windy and Jackson couldn’t keep his hair out of his face. Jonathan has a stick, as usual. I managed to get us in focus, but chopped off our feet. But whatever. It’s kinda us.
That afternoon I took the boys to see Megamind. Very cute. I lost count of how many times Jackson leaned over and told me he missed Daddy. The last movie we saw in the theater was with Caleb during R&R. Jackson remembered that.
When we walked out to the parking lot he looked around and said “I haven’t had dinner yet. How about we find somewhere around here to eat?”
“Um, okay.”
“Red Lobster sounds pretty good to me.”
“Oh… really, Jack? I vote for Cheddar’s.”
Seeing my reluctance, Jackson quickly got Jonathan on board and they proceeded to chant “Red Lobster, Red Lobster” all the way to the car. I can’t wait until Caleb is home and there will be someone to side with me again.
