for Jackie

085

So, is it possible to sum up nearly a year in what is supposedly one of the most dangerous places on earth?

Routine.

Of course there's always the occasional mid-night rocket attack or mission off base, but having routines really made the time pass.

Calling home, working out, working, eating, sleeping, watching movies…

Routine would not have been possible without the peace of mind of knowing things were taken care of at home. This is due in part to months of preparation before deployment, but none of it would have been possible without Jackie. She was the glue that held everything together at home, an endless source of confidence and encouragement.

Unfortunately, not every service member can say this. I've heard countless stories concerning worries at home that made me so thankful for the caliber of wife and mother that Jackie proved to be so many times.

What would I ever do without you, honey?

I'd be lost without you.

I love you.

Amen to that. You are both blessed to have each other and those beautiful boys. Love you all.
