on your birthday

I haven’t seen Caleb on his birthday in many years. Being right in the middle of June, it tends to always fall during military training. It’s always been hard, but this year for some reason I’ve been especially heartbroken about it. Since I couldn’t take any birthday pictures on his day, I went back through my files from the past year. Most of them make me laugh, because that’s the kind of guy Caleb is. All pictures of him are either particularly sweet or incredibly ridiculous.

To the man who thinks a serious picture is a serious tragedy:
