industry

The last few days we’ve had temperatures in the low 70s. The cooler weather makes me feel industrious. Which is a really good thing because I have projects backed up from the beginning of the summer when 98 degrees became the number one reason for sitting inside all day. Over labor day weekend we were able to finish screening the back porch, make huge headway in the kitchen (this is the paint job that never ends… yes, it goes on and on my friennnnnds!), and I finally finished a little makeover I’ve had on the back burner for months.

I picked up this vintage sewing table at my local thrift store for $10. Every time I visit I find at least ten sewing tables I’d like to bring home. Too bad I don’t have the square footage to house them all. Anyway, this one will go in the foyer once we’re finished with it (crossing my fingers for just two more weekends of work). I refinished the top and painted the bottom with my new favorite shade of blue. Yes, we will have blue in the kitchen. Are you surprised? You shouldn’t be.

Clearly I didn’t wait for the stain to completely dry before I snapped ‘after’ pictures, but you get the general idea. Here’s to Fall and the return of the chronic redecorator.
