Caleb demonstrates the ‘frige monster

Our refrigerator makes strange noises. I mean above and beyond the typical ice-tray-filling, condenser-coming-on or whatever. Last year it developed a chirp and for real it would occasionally sound like there was a cricket trapped inside. This lasted for about ten months and then one day it stopped and we didn’t ever hear it chirp again.

So if you understand eating around the kitchen island is sometimes punctuated by the refrigerator, you understand why dinner conversation can quickly degrade to talk of the “’frige monster”.
