a big gap

003

Jackson lost his other front tooth a few days ago. It was a dramatic removal involving a leatherman. Yes, we pulled the kids’ tooth out with a pair of pliers. I didn’t think it was really going to work and I didn’t take a single picture.

There were several well documented attempts at extraction over the past few weeks. None of them panned out. And nothing as dramatic as the incident when he lost his first front tooth. That was all Jon. As in, one afternoon they were rough housing. Long story short, Jackson bit Jonathan’s hand (not hard, they were playing dragons) and when Jon yanked his hand out of Jack’s mouth he yanked something else out as well. And then we had a scavenger hunt to find the flying tooth among all the lego pieces on their floor.

Jonathan fancies himself a dentist now. I’ve never seen a kid so pleased with himself for disfiguring another. It occurred to me to let him have a go at the other one, but no dice. Jack is never letting that hand near his mouth again.
