damp weekend

There were high temps and ten minutes of sunshine over the weekend. I was glad for our last minute decision to be at the lake. If it has to rain, let the drips riddle the water.
Activities for a dreary lake day include making homemade dipping dots, which ended up being only as good as the entertainment of the process. I tried to make up for it in the freezer section of the grocery store where Jackson and I had a lengthy debate. He wanted chocolate chip ice cream but would settle for plain chocolate. I wanted to try something new so we walked out with a half gallon of tiramisu ice cream. It didn’t live up to expectation which just goes to show you shouldn’t buy ice cream under duress.
There’s a hunting trip coming up and the preparations are on. The guys cleaned riffles, adjusted scopes, and shot up some targets at the firing range. Also, I now own a pair of camouflage overalls. And there’s a sentence I never thought I’d write.
Happy Monday.
